Hi All;
It has been very quiet on here but I hope people still visit and read.
I have been grappling with this subject for a while now.
How do you understand Sir Guy saying that a man feels loved when he is being respected? And that his love of a wife is based on his respect of her. I mean, I understand the value/importance of respect to men. But, it seems such a general idea. A man of a professional standing in a community will likely generate a lot of respect. Does it mean he feels loved by all who respect him? And if yes, what is the difference between others' respect and wifely respect? Sorry, it just feels so impersonal to me as a woman because when I love a man, I love him exclusively. Manly love seems, by contrast, sort of generalised and can include things like his work/mission (where he feels respected), and other worthy causes that he chooses to invest himself in. It doesn't seem to just focus/end on his wife... So is there any difference between a wife and everybody else, in a man's heart?

I don't have much time at the moment to write a reply, but in addition to the materials on WWNH, I think "Peaceful Wife" has done some amazing work on this particular topic. She has SEVERAL articles about it. In fact, in my view, Peaceful Wife's writing is the closest I know of to Sir Guy's in terms of content, quality, and depth. If anyone needed advice on a pressing issue, I would send them to her. Like Sir Guy and Lady Grace, Peaceful Wife has the gift of great Godly wisdom. She states in one comment: Most women today don’t know what respect is and don’t recognize disrespect. 😦 That is how I was! It is not intentional – but it disrespect wounds our men whether we intend it to or not. peacefulwife.wordpress.com/101-ways-to-show-respect-to-your-husband/
