A friend reached out to me about this subject but I didn't find much on the blog to help her answer her question so I'm posting here:
How does one handle her husband having performance problems in bed? I believe smoking pot and drinking are the real suspect but I can't tell him to stop. We were getting intimate at least once a week but now it's a few times a month and he complains frequently about being very tired when we're in bed. While I do my best to stay positive and pretty in hopes he'll get excited, most nights I'm pretty frustrated. Overall, he's a great guy, still super affectionate, helps me a lot around the house (no kids), and goes to church with me but I can't help fixate on this one thing.

Hi Cartieb,
Tough question. I cannot remember this question coming up on WWNH (although I'm sure it has), so I will have to research a bit and see if I can find something from Sir Guy that is on point.
I can say for certain that male performance is a very delicate area. According to Sir Guy, it goes right to the heart of a man's sense of significance. As such, she must avoid any direct criticism or complaint about it for that reason alone. If my research is successful I will come back to you with some suggestions on how she might tactfully approach the matter.
From what you say, it sounds like drink and drugs may very well be the culprit here. If that's the case, this is the core problem, with the performance issue being merely a symptom.
Leave it with me and I will reply over the weekend.
